How to properly measure windows for roller shades blinds

Measuring windows accurately is crucial for obtaining the right size roller shades or blinds. First of all, try to decide whether you want an inside or outside mount. Inside mounts fit inside the window frame, while outside mounts cover the window frame and extend beyond it. Inside Mount Measurements:

Width:

- Measure the width at the top, middle, and bottom inside of the window frame.
- Record the narrowest measurement. This ensures a proper fit without scraping.

Height:

- Measure the height on the left, center, and right inside of the window frame.
- Record the longest measurement to ensure proper coverage.

Note: Round up measurements to the nearest 1/8"inch (or 1mm). Do not deduct bracket and drive space from your measurements, we will make sure that they will fit. 

Outside Mount Measurements:
Width:
- Measure the width where you want the blinds to cover, starting from the left edge to the right edge.
- Add extra width on both sides for desired coverage or privacy.

Height:
- Measure the height from the top to the desired length. Include any extra height for mounting brackets or valances.

Note: Make sure to measure wide enough as to cover the entire window and provide maximum light gap coverage. However, this is not a rule other than that shade can cover the opening for your personal preference. 

A few of things to be considered. 

1. Overlapping: If you have multiple windows side by side, consider the overlapping of blinds or shades for a cohesive look.
2. Check for Obstacles: Ensure there are no obstacles like handles or locks that may interfere with the blinds or shades when mounted.
3. Double-Check: Double-check all measurements to avoid errors before placing an order.
